Karen has worked in the accounting and finance field since 2015. She gained experience in grant accounting working at a local university while taking accounting courses working toward becoming eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Before starting her accounting career Karen worked as a geologist in the oil and gas field for 13 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University. Since making the decision to transition from geology to accounting, it has been her goal to use her number-crunching skills to benefit the nonprofit sector.

Karen is excited to be applying her experience and education to grant reporting, compliance, and financial stewardship at Water4 while being a part of the incredible mission to end the water crisis. Throughout her life water has been a constant theme from growing up on a lake, water skiing, swimming in high school, and racing sailboats since college. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons (on the water when possible), reading over a cup of coffee, and watching the amazing Oklahoma sunsets.
