Work, Play, Give.

As a non-profit, we receive funding from all different sources. Individual donors, through grants and foundations, and even companies who want to demonstrate their values and engage employees through giving programs. We love building ongoing relationships with these companies, inviting them to tour our headquarters, helping equip them for employee giving campaigns, and reporting back to them with stories of how their gift is changing communities across Africa.

This year, we’ve seen several companies participate in employee giving and want to share how one company, Johnson & Associates, went above and beyond.

Johnson & Associates, a civil engineering, surveying, and urban planning firm based in Oklahoma City, challenged their employees to raise $15,000 for Water4. They promised to match this amount, dollar for dollar, for a total of $30,000! In order to reach this goal, they offered some creative incentives to help employees work together, have fun, and hit different fundraising goals. These included a cookout at $2,500, catered gourmet ice cream sandwiches at $5,000, Johnson & Associates insulated cups at $7,500, breakfast for the office once they crossed the $10,000 mark, a pizza party at $12,500, and finally a ½ day off for the office at $15,000.

Johnson & Associates also shared photos on their social media, tagging Water4, as they hit different benchmarks along the way! Last we heard, they’re closing in on that $15,000 with a few weeks left in the campaign!

Other organizations have also engaged in employee giving campaigns, including Continental Resources and Paycom. Paycom employees contributed over $100,000 to various causes this year, including $30,000 to Water4!

We’d like to thank all the companies that have joined in our mission to end the water crisis through their employee giving programs. We’re incredibly grateful for the impact that these gifts have in giving people safe water for life as well as the way they share our mission.
