This past year, Water4 partners brought safe water access to more than 185,000 new people. Think about everything they’ve seen – the communities they’ve helped, the smiling faces of the men, women and children whose lives were forever changed because they showed up. I have the pleasure of knowing them, and they love being your hands and feet solving one of the biggest humanitarian challenges of our time.

Now think about all the work left to do for the 2.1 billion people who still don’t have access to safe water. That’s a big number, but so is the 1 million people we’ve brought water to in the last 5 years.

When you’re fighting an enemy the size and scope of the global water crisis, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. It’s easy to look around and wonder if you’re even making a dent. It’s easy to forget all you’ve already accomplished.

So what do you do? You take a deep breath, grit your teeth and you defy impossible. You show up and dare to attempt the absurd. You chip away until there’s nothing left. And slowly, little by little, that’s how you move from impossible, to difficult, to done. That’s how a crisis becomes history.

At Water4, we know how it feels to stare down the impossible. Every day, we wake up to a world where 2.1 billion people don’t have access to safe water. So what do we do? We show up. We strategize. We systematically attack. Most importantly, we pray like crazy.

And each time someone stands with Water4 to equip local people to solve local problems, lives are forever changed. Water scarcity is eliminated, leaving behind lasting peace, abundance and reconciliation in its place.
